Dada wants you to have a great event and the best possible experience. Because he has seen many good events, but also some very badly organized ones, he would like to offer some practical advice and suggestions to ensure that he will be fully satisfied with the result. At any time, a little carelessness can greatly affect the speaker’s presentation, and thus create a negative effect on the audience. Please ignore the following if you are an expert in the field and consider that this information does not apply to you.
Equipment Requirements
Dada prefers to use a wireless microphone, which allows him to move freely. He usually uses Microsoft PowerPoint on his Apple MacBook Pro and carries his own Apple DVI video adapter and remote control. An LCD projector (preferably 1800-5000 lumens or more) and cable are required to connect it to his Apple DVI adapter. In addition, a table next to the laptop is required. If it is absolutely necessary to have Dada’s presentation controlled from behind the scenes, a remote control and a monitor will be needed to see what is being projected.
Stage and Times
Seats in theater or classroom style are preferable, and much better even in ‘chevron’ style if possible. The scenic space has to be well lit so that Dada can interact better with the public. Also, a bright room is more pleasant and helps people remember better and laugh more.
Avoid adjacent events or other programs whose noise may distract the speaker and the audience.
Avoid the situation in which the public is still eating, as this creates unnecessary distraction.
Please schedule the event at a time when participants are fresh and attentive. Keep in mind that after lunch, or early in the morning after a party or cocktail party, the impact of the presentation that Dada wants to have on your audience will diminish.
It is also important to leave a space after the presentation to allow Dada to interact with his audience, personal presentations, questions, etc.
